Coot with juvenile

Very hot today, so I went for an evening walk again. Roger decided he needed more intense exercise and went to the gym instead. I drove to Samoreau and walked around the small lake, and continued on along the River Seine for a little way, where I passed a group of youths diving off a tree branch into the water. There wasn't a great deal of bird life in evidence this evening, a swan family, a heron flying off, and these coots. I thought they made quite a nice picture among the reflections and in the evening light.
