Phew

No more dead pigeons today, thankfully!

Last day with the kids this term- we had a great day, they produced some super letters in the morning, then we participated in an online first aid course, which they really enjoyed. The afternoon was our year six leavers service at the church, and we all walked down there to watch. Some of my lovely class from last year are leaving us- sad to see them go but very happy for them as they take the next step on their journeys.
Had a lovely moment during break time with one of my favourites from that class, a boy with aspergers - very bright, highly developed sense of humour but very challenging. He and I had a chat: I asked him some questions, which he answered, and then at the end he asked me about my class next year. Unless you work with or are familiar with aspergers that doesn't sound significant at all, but it meant a lot to me that he made an effort to ask me some questions - taking an interest in small talk or subjects outside specific areas of interest is much harder for him. At the end he said quietly "hug?" I can think of no nicer way to have ended our chat. He will be missed next year, and is just one of those characters that I think I will always remember :-)

Little miss had a fun day with daddy today as he was on childminding duty. She was exhausted! No bedtime dramas tonight- straight out like a light!
