Old Boats
Mike's day off so we went and did a bit of exploring of some old boats I'd spotted at the weekend. This little pier/jetty is long abandoned but in its day it was obviously well used by fishing and creel boats and also a local ferry, there are the remains of at least five winches.
We walked down to the slip through knee high honeysuckle! Amazing to see a carpet of them, the scent must be wonderful in the evening. This boat was the most complete but there were two or three others in varying stages of decay, just lichen covered greying lengths of wood studded with old nails lying buried in the long grass.
Needless to say, Ollie had to have a swim to cool off then he rolled in goose grass and got covered in the little burs! Once home I spent hours grooming and trimming them out of his fur!
Look "Large" to see the sparkling sea!
