Setting up day Kirkudbright Country Fair.
We got a good start on the trip up to Kirkudbright after my dental check up. We were on site by lunch time and setting up the marquee went sell.
While we were setting up we noticed (well we couldn't miss it really) a steam traction engine. Soon after that it set of up the field and we found out later it had been pressed into service to pull a large articulated lorry which was slipping on the grass. It would certainly have the power to do this as we were talking to a lady later who had a mini engine about 4 feet high and may be 6 long and it could pull 5 tonnes.
Later in the day they took the steam engine up the hill to take photos obviously we couldn't miss such an opportunity on such a lovely evening! This is the one I preferred of the many I took. As you will notice they have travelled 200 miles from Montrose to be at the event, which is not quite as far as the lady with the mini engine who had come from (I think) Aberdeen.
They were greatly appreciated by all who saw them.
