COME IN SPINNER.

reading a wild-life mag. the other day, the author of a bird article said he thought chasing/photographing Kingfishers was addictive - and that wasnt a NZ article. The statement could have been written by me. It made me wonder if I was a bit obsesive/compulsive - Probably a bit !! Still - I dont drink !!

This method for this set of pics - the focus was ( again) set on the branch. You have to see the bird coming in - so its a waiting game & Usually when a bird's feeding it will go back to the same perch - not always - but when it takes off from the perch there it is very likely it will pick up its quarry and head back to the same spot/perch - thats when you get ready and as it approaches set your motordrive going. because the focus was set on the perch two of the pics are not very well focused as it hasnt yet come into the focal point - and because its being taken on a fast shutter speed the DOF is not great.
unfortunately with this shot the perch is a bit messy ( no not argi!)
still - a very nice encounter again.
