A nice Sunday. I didn't close the curtains last night and wondered if I'd wake up at the crack of dawn but no, I awoke at 8.05am.

I had to buy the ingredients for a Guinness and chocolate cake and banana loaf as we have a bake sale for charity at work tomorrow. So I had breakfast at Tesco's Costa, did my shop and was home by 11am just as my guests were heading out shopping for the day. So I baked the cakes and iced them (letting Lottie help me with the washing up - she's so good at it), caught up with a bit of TV and pottered.

After a nice cup of tea in the garden, we then went out to a relaxed dining pub (Wavendon Arms) for dinner which was very nice and then came back (minus two of the party who headed back up to Lincolnshire) and watched the World Cup, which had a suitably exciting finale.

Lottie is staying for the week and I had to blip her today....
