Outdoor tuba

I had to go out, in the rain, because the wisdom of the Internet was that popcorn isn't a vegetable. Imagine my delight when I spotted this.

Today is the start of the scarecrow festival in the village; think "The Wicker Man" meets the "Early Learning Centre", and to take advantage of the passing trade the antique shop at the top of the hill has brought some of its treasured stock out to attract the punters. Now there are a couple of problems with this plan and the main one is that by putting up this stall they've taken up the space drivers need in order to park and peruse the products. I stopped part way down the hill and walked back but I'd have struggled to manhandle a chest-of-drawers back down to my wheels if I'd made an impulse purchase.

The shop is called "The Loose Goose" and the tagline, detailed below the shop name on the sign, is "ave a gander". Whenever I see it I hear the opening of Shubert's Ave Maria but I'm sure that wasn't their intention.

I might go back and road test the tuba now.........
