I Still Don't Understand It

An installation by Robert Smithson at the GORGEOUS exhibit at the Asian Museum in San Francisco. Dirt and twelve mirrors. Mr S and the kindly museum guard both attempted to explain reflections to me, but I ended up crawling on the floor trying to find myself. The exhibit examines the concept of gorgeous through different cultures, eras and media. The content is too disparate to describe, but the commentaries were all insightful and provocative. A must-see if you are in the city.

It was a perfect San Francisco day--varied weather, great art and terrific food, all to continue the celebration of the birth of Mr S!
