Another grey day diary
I think the English summer is over now... Heavy rain this morning then the skies just settled into dull lifeless grey.
In hospital by 9.30am to talk to more specialists about Dad. Then mbfiatw Jean and I sat with him until mid-day when we left him knowing that his friend Inga would be arriving soon and went to nearby hostelry for brunch and then home for some 'time out'. Back again at the hospital late afternoon. Gareth, (bro) joined us at 18.45 after his work day. We left him with Dad for the last hour of visiting, and went to Asda for this and that and then picked up fish and chips from the Chippie (it is Friday after all) for supper with my beer of the day. Gareth joined us when he came back from the hospital to talk for a while. btw I am sorry that I am falling behind in commenting - both responding to lovely comments and also to commenting on blip friends' photos ... I will - I want - to catch up with you all asap.
Ale in England #11 Oxford Gold (Brakspear) Alc 4.6% vol. Promoted by the brewery as a great beer to have with fish - so got that right then!! "Brakspear Oxford Gold is a remarkably zesty brew, with fresh, citrussy aromas and a firm, fruity flavour. Pale ale malts provide the beer with its gold-gilt shimmer, spruced by a hatful of crystal malts to give body, texture and a delicate honey’d wrap." (Brakspear-beers.co.uk)
