The Child is a Sponge

The girls got their school reports from nursery yesterday. They were both the dream stuff of proud parents - both girls have enjoyed nursery and have really engaged with opportunities to learn, largely through play.

It was fascinating seeing the different strengths already shining through but the loveliest thing was hearing how the girls look out for one another and support each others' learning.

Lyra made me read her all three pages of her report whilst she beamed proudly and clarified certain points. She then declared she wanted to do some maths - as you can see, she quickly got into it. Her ability with numbers surprised me as she mostly spends her spare time practising reading and writing.
