History in the sunshine

Went for a walk on the Island's South West coast today. We parked at Portlet, then walked to the German gun emplacements at Noirmont Point. A really unique and interesting experience, the defences are incredibly well preserved.

Afterwards we walked to Ouisane beach for some lunch.

This is a gun tower built by the British in the 19th Century to protect against invasion from the French.

Look how blue the sea looks!
