Zzzzzz
A friendly Kiwi (New Zealander) at the airport's service desk told us, the tap water is okay to drink and never to tip in New Zealand because minimum wage is around 14 dollars. Thank god he told us that because tipping is what makes the U.S. go round!
Blythe and I were picked up by a shuttle and the driver was standing outside of Customs with our names on a piece of paper which was kewl. We said our goodbyes to Eddy who had another journey to get to his campus further south.
We were taken to our new home in "Millennium Village". We signed a contract with our property manager and found out we live with two boys who would be returning back on Wednesday. They left us the sweetest note with their wifi password and said that we could eat their food that was on the middle shelf.
The pad smelled a little bit but this place was sweet. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, living room equipped with a television. Blythe asked the property manager where the nearest laundromat was like a fool because a washer and dryer were right here in the flat.
Jet Lag is soooo real y'all. Our RA was kind enough to take us grocery shopping around 10:30 am and then I think I slept from 1 to around 8? New Zealand is 17 hours ahead of New York and the struggle wuz real.
I slept again that night but woke up at 3:30 am and wasn't able to fall back asleep. At least we slept through horrible weather. Apparently storms that come from the East hit New Zealand harder. Hadn't seen the sun yet and the rain and wind were just awful.
OH! And the tap water is SO GOOD.
I'm going to start doing a Kiwi Word of the Day!
Tap- Faucet
Apparently nobody calls it a faucet.
