Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Looking Both Directions

This has been a very good day!

The morning arrived wet. Not with fog, but a soft rain. Enough to rinse some of the road grime off the car which had not been parked in the garage during the night.

Somewhere close to noon the clouds lifted and hovered high above us for much of the remainder of the day. About that moment, we leashed the pups so we could all walk to the beach lookout.

The purple flowers are always there to greet us as we get to the beach and as we leave. I don't know the name of this flower or plant. I just know those flowers are beautiful.

When we got back to the house from our walk, we brought the dogs in to get a drink and then took them right back down to the car and we all hopped in and headed out for an adventure.

We went to the "Achievement House" located at Cuesta College--it's a very large thrift store. I spent $7.50 on several items I found; my favorite is a hat. Maybe I'll blip it soon. Mr. Fun purchased 9 CDs for a dollar each. So we both walked out sassy and happy and pretty much knew that mostly we just "want what we have" and that's why thrift stores are an enjoyable way to spend time, but not much money. I wander through thrift stores wondering about some items: who owned this, did it get used a lot, why was it discarded?

As we ate our evening meal at our dinner table, and watched the blanket of clouds low on the horizon lift just enough to reveal a ribbon of light way out on the horizon. The sun's farewell and the sky's reaction was our dinner show -- spectacular, just spectacular.

This has been a very good day!

Good night from California's Central Coast.
