I've just had a call from the surgeon who performed my mum's knee replacement operation telling me that all went well and she is now awake and talking in the recovery room.

I didn't think I'd be quite so worried but I confess that I've found it hard to settle at any one thing today, so it was a lovely surprise to get the call tonight.

I'm off to visit her in the hospital tomorrow...need to get a bag of grapes!
