On the wall in our hall and away from direct sunlight is a sampler my Great Grandmother made in 1843.....Aged just 8 years old, the expertise on a piece of old linen is amazing. The passage of writing stitched into this needlework:

Jesus Lord: I look to thee, meek and humble
May I be, pride and anger put away. Love thee
dearer day by day. May I hate a lying tongue,
never seek another's wrong. Teach me for my friends
to pray, and my parents to obey

There must be many of these hanging on wall up and down the country......So much history ❤️
