Volcano cooked lunch.....?? ❤️

Thursday we decided to drive across the island to a place called Furnese.....A town set within a "Sleeping Volcano" for lunch......Here traditionally every morning food is buried in a hole in the ground, only to be brought up again at lunchtime fully cooked.......We had to try it in this restaurant ❤️ Pork, beef, ham, potatoes, carrots and yams on large platters slow cooked to perfection......It was very good...!!
Steaming lakes and fields and the distinct smell of sulphur are a give away to the seismic activity in this area, no eruptions since the 1800's but plenty of tiny earthquakes are detected daily......Xx
