The garden faces East and in the early morning this spot is shaded by our neighbours’ enormous Eucalyptus tree. It overlooks the Grand Union Canal, which has featured in many of Anniemay’s blips and is a nice place to sit and watch canal life as it passes by.

Which it doesn’t do today. The canal is unusually quiet - no boats and no birds flitting over the water. Perhaps, like me, they’re having a quiet day at home.
