It's the place where hip people meet hey hey

Across the road from our estate for as long as we have lived here, are several large fields.

One section was developed about 5 years ago, and I thought maybe that would be enough. But no - the second part of the farmland was designated suitable for 600 newbuilds.

The approval was given a couple of years ago, but nothing happened - the recession hit and the builders held off until things started to pick up.

In the centre of the field was a derelict farmhouse - and to either side animals still roamed until very recently. Just after the permission was granted, the derelict farmhouse was targeted by vandals and three nights in a row it was set on fire.

On the last night, one of the vandals burned in the fire. The remnants of the farm house were demolished and a pile of rubble in the middle of several acres of overgrown grass were all that was left.

In the last two weeks; action has begun. All the rubble was taken away, and an army of bulldozers and diggers moved in. Where was grass and hedgerow, and a pretty nicely developing marshland, there is now brown soil. Some more brown soil. And lots of seagulls.

I'm not looking forward to 1000 Plus people moving in 800 yards away, but I'm quite interested in seeing the changes to the land scape over the next few months, but obviously not as interested as making myself walk along to the end of the road and snapping it for you.

Please have my watering can instead. I did a lot of watering.

And now amma gonna have chocolate .
