These boots are made for walking ...

A great day's hike through the Larch Valley above Lake Moraine .... a 2 1/2 hour steep uphill climb with so many switchbacks it seemed like a case of deja vu. Apparently this is grizzly bear territory and notices at the bottom of the hike state that it is a legal requirement to hike in groups of 4 or more ... this offered some degree of protection from bears, and allowed them space to pass. Did make me hyper vigilant when ducking off the trail and hiding in the bushes for the occasional restroom stop.

Another day of spectacular scenery ... even hiking through a bit of snow at the top of the trail near the lake that was still frozen over.
