Spa Day
Aaaaaand relax!
Today after a lazy morning waking up over breakfast and Modern Family, Teresa and I got ready for our day at the spa.
I called and spoke to Lindsey on the way and it was lovely to catch up with her. She has just finished working on another Avengers sequel and so whilst she is waiting for another project I am hopeful she will pop down to visit us in London.
At the spa we were shown around and quickly got changed into our bikinis and dipped straight into the steaming jacuzzi. It was so hot it was heavenly. This stunning Buddha statue managed to catch the pretty rainbow reflections from the lighting above.
We enjoyed the bubbles for a while before switching the relaxing swirling water for the hydrotherapy pool where we upped the speed of the current and did some cardio and resistance training swimming against the current.
After a swim we wound back down in the steam room (which I love and Teresa hates) and then the sauna which smelled lovely like wood and tea tree after one woman poured some oil onto the coals.
As we had four hours to enjoy the facilities we drank a very sweet glass of aloe vera juice and then made the rounds again before our back and neck massage started. It was so beautiful and relaxing (in our fetching paper pants!) I swear I fell asleep at one point.
Once it was over we drank champagne in the relaxation room overlooking the Thames and watching helicopters land and take off from the hotel helipad.
Once we were sadly all out if time we walked to the train lighter than air and bought ingredients for a delicious potato salad and dressed herby leaves.
We ate dinner and watched the highlights of the men's Wimbledon final between Federer and Djokovic-a fantastic match we wished we had seen.
Late at night the boys came back with Ryan as he had driven them home after they missed their train due to a two hour delay. The reason? Ryan lost his car keys, in the lock of the boot of his car!
Today I am grateful for an indulgent afternoon spent with my BB Teresa warming up for an eventual spa hen weekend.
