Lavender

I revisited Hitchin lavender farm, hoping to see the field in full bloom... but only a few rows of lavender had come out fully. I had hoped to repeat some of the shots I took last time (only in colour!) but the plant growth meant that the rows weren't as well defined. Nevertheless, the scent was intoxicating and it left me feeling slightly drowsy for the rest of the day. Here's hoping for a good night's sleep!

By the way, does anyone happen to know exactly what this doorstep visitor is? I think it has too much red/brown in its plumage to be a female sparrow. I also think it's a little bigger than a sparrow...
