Ikea at Thurrock

After my morning swim and breakfast, Alex and I tootled off to Ikea accross the River via the crossings at Dartford. (Alex having the day off because of Founder's Day on Saturday).

Mission - buy a rug of reasonable cost to cover up a massive worn area in the woven hessian flooring in the study/office. It will cost a lot less than
re-carpeting (although it is a v small room) but mostly it can be put down with a minimum of furniture removal. I can't face taking out the book shelves an so on....

As always ended up buying quite a lot of spare bits and bobs which go to making the house prettier and me poorer!
We popped into Bluewater on the way back and had lunch and looked in the sales racks - but Demelza has spoilt me - I enjoy bargain hunting in the charity shops much more.

After school time, Alex had his gang around to start his 'Dr Who ' filming. He has written a play and gathered up his usual cronies to act in it, film it and sort costumes and music (another possible blip this week, I think...)
