So last night I decided not to drink wine as I needed to stay sober-ish as I had far too much planned for today. So opted to drink cheap cocktails that had hardly any alcohol and full of juice and ice. Yes, great idea in theory, but in practice my body really didn't like litres of orange and apple juice in it. I was so bloated and uncomfortable last night, actually thought I would need to make myself sick when I got home (earlier than planned). Finally managed to get to sleep; woke to find my stomach gurgling far too much. Plan worked: sober and no hangover but the side affects were much worse. So no walk for me. Lots of toast was consumed and I was able to collect my eldest. We sat cuddled up for most of the afternoon. She was in zombie mode. 3 1/2 hours sleep the first night and 8 hours the next, with all that walking in between ... and they got this t-shirt at the end! I'm so proud of her. One of the other leaders gave her the nickname 'smiler', which sums her up. She may be tired, hungry and missing home, but she will always have a smile and a laugh. I did feel bad for the leaders; they could only sleep after the kids and had to be awake before them. I bet they were in bed before the kids this evening!
