Tonight I had the pleasure of photographing The Acorns Hospice Summer Ball. For me it was a little like stepping back in time......for two reasons.
Firstly I had to 'smudge' the guests on arrival and in the dining room. Smudge is a term we used to use which meant persuading people to having their photograph taken when I worked on Princess Cruiseliners as a Photog. It took me a little while to get back into schmoozing the room but I soon got into it and handed out a huge amount of business cards too :-)
I also popped 'backstage' so to speak.....where they were preparing some pretty fantastic looking starters and desserts and took a few photographs of their wares. I was instantly transported back to the many years I spent in the hospitality trade, the camaraderie, the bustle, the swearing!
