Lockheed Electra

The monument is on a roundabout approaching Southport and celebrates the flight by pilots Dick Merril and Jack Lambie in May 1937 that took off from Ainsdale beach. It was a benchmark flight of the first double crossing of the Atlantic by a commercial aircraft.

On the road all day.Nearly three hours to return from Manchester due to the volume of the traffic.Should have been 45mins.Glad to see the announcement of HS3 so all I will need to do in the future is drive to my local railway station put my trolleys of plants on the train and send them to my customers.
About time we faced the fact that we need a lot more and larger roads.Lets leave the train back in history.
