Lake Burwain

Taken from the top of Alkincoates wood near where I live in Lancashire. This is a vantage point I had never discovered before as there are new footpaths that have been created ever so carefully in this protected woodland. There has also been a large orchard planted in it since I last walked this way and some nurturing of great clumps of wildflowers. Good to see. This lake has a very active sailing club, but sadly there were no little boats out on it today to capture in the picture! Looking across the lake tho, the hill you can make out in the distance is Pen-y-Ghent ( I think that's how you spell it? maybe no "h"..?) It looks quite gentle from here...but I've walked it in strong wind and its quite a pull I can tell you !
