A Chance Meeting.....

......with this great little lizard in the Botanic Gardens in Mendocino.

We managed to get away a little earlier today for our drive down the Coast road to Fort Bragg where we are staying tonight. The morning started off quite cool with heavy mist but soon cleared and it has been a lovely day.

The journey took us partly though the Redwood Forest and partly along the beautiful Pacific ocean - the road, in places, was so wiggly it almost made us feel dizzy but the scenery was fantastic and the contrast between trees and sea was wonderful.

We arrived at our destination - left our bags etc at the Hotel and drove into Mendocino only to find it packed with visitors to the Music festival - but we paid a visit the Botanic Gardens and met Lenny Lizard, taking lots of photos of him and the flowers - I even managed to capture a Humming Bird - which for me was a miracle. However, as Annis image was the better, I have blipped Lenny instead - hope you like him - he is about 12 inches long and has a lovely little face.

It is difficult to realise our trip here is heading towards its conclusion - the time has rushed by, especially the last few days. I am SO pleased to have been able to come - it was touch and go for so long. Anni has thoroughly spoilt me and it has been altogether wonderful ! We had a few problems with our baggage going astray and having to change cars etc but as I said to Anni later it was all part of our adventure!

We shall see what we shall see tomorrow on our journey to Sacramento.

I like Lenny even better on large.
