Colour Run
I went along to the Manchester Colour Run today and met up with Chrissie1butter and Kathymay. I caught the tram to Piccadilly Gardens to rendezvous with Chrissie....thank goodness she spotted me as she'd forgotten to take her phone with her...doh! We then joined the hundreds as we squished onto the tram to the Etihad Stadium...and I really do mean squished!
There were about ten thousand runners and they started the run in their pristine white tops...and ended it colour splattered. There were colour stations along the course where they had coloured flour chucked all over them. Some didn't feel this was enough so they lay on the floor and rolled about in it. We wanted to get good colour explosion shots but it was difficult protecting our cameras at the same time.
Chrissie and I went to the pink zone and the orange zone and then we searched through the crowd for Kath and her friend Angie near the finish line. We didn't need to ask Kath which colour zone she had been near as she had that 'just out of the morgue blue hue' about her.
The whole atmosphere was buzzing and everyone was in such a great mood. There were all ages and sizes taking part and Chrissie has decided she will take part next year. It wasn't easy getting back into town when we'd had enough as we had to queue with the colour splattered runners and wait for a tram. We were yet again squished onto a tram...thank goodness it was for only a few stops. We spilled out at Piccadilly then got on the free bus to the Cathedral Cafe for a much needed drink and some lunch.
I liked these guys in their morph suits...they assured me they were smiling!
