Le Tour comes to Yorkshire!!!

Here we are at Skipton, all fired up and looking forward to the Big Event!

It's been a very busy week in every way. On Monday, Jonathans car went up in smoke and had to be towed to the big scrap yard in the sky. Luckily his client didn't need him this week, so he was able to concentrate on some serious car hunting. We enjoyed a great evening at the Presidents handover at Rotary; the wedding invitations have been finished and are waiting to be written and posted; and I may have another client in the offing. Oh, and we have found a car!!!

Mum has retreated to the cottage in Flamborough and left us her house in Skipton for the weekend - how lucky are we!!! The bunting is flying, the shops and buildings are covered in knitted jerseys and yellow bicycles, and the pubs are overflowing! We walked up the High Street earlier and saw all the preparations under way - police, security, bollards, barriers stacked at the roadside, big screens. It's going to be fantastic!!

We have decided that in the morning we will walk up the road a mile or so to a great pub which is serving bacon baps from 7am in the car park, and then holding a bbq. Hopefully it will be fine and we can take some chairs and set up camp on the roadside.
