CLEARING AWAY THE RUBBISH!
I'm up early, the washing's in and Mr. HCB has been busying around before the man comes to erect the fence. He says he will finish it today, so then we can start collecting rubbish again try and keep things tidy.
I do hope that Mr. HCB keeps his word and gets rid of the rubbish, but I am determined not to be a nagging wife, I shall just drop little hints - as we sometimes have to and I am sure most wives will understand that!
If the rubbish isn't moved by next Tuesday or Wednesday, then I might have to resort to putting photographs all over the house - I won't say anything, you understand - just let the photographs do the talking! Is that devious - well not really - I just know my husband so well. He is so laid back that he probably wouldn't even notice this pile on our front garden, but I KNOW it's there and it will be good when it's gone!
The roses are blooming well, as you can see - the pink one is Queen of Sweden, the red is Ruby Anniversary and the pale cream one is Crocus Rose. Actually if someone can sell a picture of an unmade bed for over £2m, I wonder how much this would sell for?
Now I wouldn't want you to think that I am perfect with regard to clearing away "stuff" - one look in my Quiet Room would tell you the true story, but as in life, we have to keep moving rubbish and bad stuff out of our lives, so that it doesn't take root and affect us, but then of course we have to replace it with good and wholesome things.
However, I am mindful of the verses that say:
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
For you will be treated as you treat others.
The standard you use in judging
is the standard by which you will be judged.
“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye
when you have a log in your own?
How can you think of saying to your friend,
‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’
when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?
Hypocrite!
First get rid of the log in your own eye;
then you will see well enough
to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
Matthew 7 : 1-5
New Living Translation
You must excuse me - I have to dash and remove a few logs!!
