SIGN - Little Pickle
The word I have chosen in the HeartFreek July Photo Challenge is SIGN - and here is my blip.
We went for a walk along the cliff top today and ended up at our favourite cafe - Little Pickle Deli Cafe - where the owners, Andrew and Karen, and all their staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
Table sharing is a "must" as it is quite small, but it's great to make new friends whilst sharing, and we did again this morning.
Although it wasn't a fasting day today, I still resisted the scrummy cakes, and we still haven't tried one of Andrew's famous BIG breakfasts, but wonder how long we can go on putting it off!
However, we have tried the Little Pickle sandwiches, which are gi-normous - in fact, you need to eat them with a knife and fork, their Elegant Afternoon Teas have to be seen to be believed, and Andrew's black pudding and sausage rolls are to die for.
So if you want to be pampered and remembered by name just go to Little Pickle in Christchurch Road, Boscombe and enjoy a latte or a cup of tea, whichever takes your fancy but don't linger too long at the counter looking at all the delicious cakes.
On our way back, we did our usual thing of looking in the wonderful front gardens and at our very favourite garden we saw someone sweeping the leaves outside. We stopped and spoke to Robin (the sweeper), who said he was only the gardener's assistant and that his wife, Jan, was the gardener. We were invited in to have a look round and left with lots of beautiful plants - Jan said she was only too glad they were going to a good home. Isn't that great?
It was fantastic to meet others who are happily retired and keen gardeners to boot (no pun intended) so we have made more new friends and I daresay we will pop in again sometime in the near future.
