cb1 9 today. it's been a very long drawn out birthday celebration - a party 2 weeks ago, a birthday in disney and presents and cake to come in london. unsurprisingly we managed to find enough disney tat to keep her amused and to give it enough of a birthday feel.

went to the disney studios park. the boys did flying carpets while we watched the high school musical show which i can only assumed cb1 enjoyed as she remained completely transfixed throughout. we saw an amazing car stunt show and the canyon full of water. ate our sneaky sandwiches and escaped back to disneyland itself, spotting minnie on the way. the boys did thunder mountain while we did alice labyrinth and more tea cup twirling. we couldnt resist a second shot at the parade.

the treat of the day was supposed to be tea with the characters with cake and singing. cb1 is not a girl to be put on the spot in public but we thought she'd cope. so off we went, paid up and started eating. cb1 was too terrified to eat and within 5 minutes was sitting under the table in case a character came too near. we have a fabulous collection of photos of me and mr skaterg1rl hugging various disney greats. cb1 was quickly joined by cb2 under the table. my french was good enough to explain to the characters so they all ducked down to wave to the birthday girl.

she was very pleased with the mickey mouse which sang 'happy birthday' when you pressed its tummy. and with the trip to the shop to spend her disney money.

retreated to the hotel where we drank beer and the kids played in the wild west playground. when in rome...
