Tea Time
Found one of the young bush crickets tucking into a petal of the first flower of a yellow dahlia – the only real downside to these fascinating creatures they are vegetarians and enjoy leaves and petals of various flowers. It has grown some more and I think this is a male and the first signs of its wings are showing.
When I looked again it had moved up to shelter on the back of the flower but by dusk it was back nibbling a petal. I also found this fly perched on an Echinacea bud and in the cool of the evening I could get quite close.
