Momentous Day

I know this is not a very special photograph but it is possibly a very significant one for our household!

I didn't want to make a big thing about taking photos in school grounds with children playing, especially with the way life seems to be changing ie. privacy and protection of individuals etc. so I literally took a couple of snaps, no faces showing.

The day holds significance for me as it was almost definitely my last day teaching at this school and possibly my last day in the classroom ever!! I do supply work, only at this school and with our impending move I don't think the journey is going to be feasible any more :-(
This is also the school where my husband, Pete, was head teacher for twelve years so it will be strange to think that links with the school are virtually severed!

As the photo shows, the school field is quite special. Pete had an awful lot to do with the maintenance of the grounds as well as the building itself. He's a real gardener and planned and dug a huge nature reserve and pond for using alongside curricular activities as well as for enjoyment. There is also an enormous oak tree, the school's emblem, which dominates one end of the field.

I enjoyed my last day, last playground duty, last lunchtime............and wonder what life will hold without school involvement?????!
And it all happened on the warmest day of the year so far :-/
