A Greater Kudu, Colchester Zoo, Essex.

I foolishly volunteered to assist with my daughter's school trip to the Zoo today.

It's been one of the hottest days of the year and in between constantly making sure the 60 children were all present and correct , wearing sun hats, suitably hydrated and not in need of the toilet we found a little time to see some animals.

I managed to sneak a few photos by first promising on my life not to catch any of the children in the photos, including my own daughter! I did get a great photo of the kids feeding the elephants but even though you can only see the children's backs I couldn't use it as my blip.

So this is a Greater Kudu

Wikipedia info below.

The greater kudu is a woodland antelope found throughout eastern and southern Africa. Despite occupying such widespread territory, they are sparsely populated in most areas, due to a declining habitat, deforestation and poaching. Wikipedia
