Junger Turmfalke

Or "young kestrel". This one's sitting on our sunshade at the end of the terrace, it's looking at Moot here and Moot was looking straight back at it.

We'd seen a pair of kestrels around and we had a pretty good idea where they were nesting but we hadn't seen the young much. Occasional sightings on the roof next door were the best that we'd had.

Until today.

And, with luck, a camera was to hand. Blip sorted.

It might be worth setting up the tripod and going for another shot.

And beside the beauty of this bird, the triviality of my day can be comfortably ignored.
