Novelty

I tend to read in fits and starts, depending on my evening routines. At the moment I have taken to reading while watching the tennis. Having started the book several months ago, I have this evening finally finished Robin Knox-Johnson's account of his non-stop sail around the world. I am sure I would not have the physical or mental stamina to go even half way! I am now moving on to a quite different book, a novel set around the Isle of Arran. I tend not to be so captivated by novels (compared to factual books) but this one immediately had me intrigued.....

A bright day but feeling tired. Perhaps due to the busy weekend. My bike's pannier rack is rattling really badly when I go over the cobbles. I have decided an interim fix could be a cloth wrapped around the part where the pannier bag seems to bang against the rack. I think I need one of those elasticated band things with hooks on each end to tie the pannier more securely. Blow, I only went up to the bike shop today to get some cleaner and lubricant for my chain which is looking a terrible state.

I cannot believe it is the last day of June - my favourite month of the year.
