Seana Bhraigh - Mount Doom!

Today a really remote northern munro, requiring a long drive up a dirt track, then bike track up to the base of the hill and finally a steep scramble up the NE ridge and over this terrific peak and round the whole horseshoe before retrieving our bikes for the fast track back.

This shot was taken from just beyond the aptly coined the 'ridge of doom' (Creag an Duine) before walking round to the higher but rounder peak of Seana Bhraigh at 926m. You can see the north western peaks of Assynt in the distance. Seana Bhraigh is one of the most northern peaks, apart from the two we did earlier and Mt. Hope and Kilibreck.

Upon the final scramble up onto the peaky bit, G remarked, 'there's been someone up here with some white paint'. As it turned out the top was a dining table for the local eagle. Pellets of rabbit fur and partridge feathers all over - the white paint was fresh! But unfortunately no sign of the eagle.

This is no. 200 for us. On the home straight now, if we can just get them done before my knees give out.
