The standing stones at Callanish

Feeling stiff and sore after the previous day we opted for a leisurely cruise across to Stornoway and a whistle-stop tour of the sights of Lewis.

Here are the standing stones at Callanish which was well worth the visit. They are not huge, but they are very imposing when you are in amongst them. The stones make up patterns of a cross two lines and a circle with a burial cairn in the middle.
