A Carnival Float with a View
A quick Blip tonight as I'm totally shattered.
A great day all round. BBC breakfast were reporting from Camp Bastion this morning as part of Armed Forces Day, so we avidly watched in case we got to see Mr C. No sightings so off I went swimming with Little Miss E, only to receive a message when I got out the pool "did you see me, was on the telly at the end"! No I didn't...I stupidly didn't press the record button before I left. However, the kind BBC after a message I sent put up the farewell shot so the munchkins got to see their daddy in the end. Smiles all round.
I had actually planned on going to a classic car show today, but it clashed with our local summer carnival in which Little Miss E's pre school were taking part.
So everyone was dressed as a Minion or character from the same film on a lorry/ float. The weather forecast was horrendous for today, so to say I wasn't looking forward to being trapped on a lorry for two hours with a toddler on my knee, was an understatement. But....it was great, I looked stupid, the munchkins looked great and the Float win first prize! The thunder and torrential rain held off until the last half hour, where one side of the lorry got drenched, but it was very funny as we were still playing "Happy" on the sound system.
Needless to say we got drenched the moment we disembarked the lorry and I made a mad dash carry Little Miss E back to my car. Hot baths and PJs when we got home early evening.
So that is my quick Blip for today, the view of the super crowds who braved the weather to cheer the carnival procession through.
Goodnight all.
