Change

Just after Easter I made a hasty and unplanned decision to boot sugar out of my diet one day. I did used to eat rather a lot of chocolate, and baked countless cakes. Apart from that, my diet has always been pretty healthy, and I'm not overweight (having somehow three times managed to shed the four stone I had gained with each pregnancy without really doing anything other than run around after the kids), but I was feeling very sluggish because of all the sugar clogging things up. Over two months later I feel so much better. I'm not completely sugar free. Never gave up fruit. Some sugar crops up in cartons of soup I take in for lunch or pasta sauces when I'm too tired to cook from scratch, and I sometimes have a few squares of chocolate, some cake or ice cream here and there. No doubt I will still indulge at birthdays and holidays etc! I still eat for England actually. However, I much prefer to have a bowl of yoghurt and fruit these days instead of stuffing my face with chocolate on an evening!
