Life is like a box of chocolates...
...you never know what you're gonna get.
My husband is in Baltimore for a medical conference. Since it is only a 50 minute drive from D.C, I drove up after work. While walking to dinner, lo and behold, this restaurant appeared. My husband was perplexed by my glee and excitement, until I told him that Forrest Gump was today's movie prompt. This was almost too easy. :-) Nice for a blip, but we ate somewhere less touristy.
After dinner we had the most delightful experience. It was dusk and we climbed the stairs to the top of Federal Hill to look out over the harbor. We were approached by a group of young people who explained that they were attending a summer program at Johns Hopkins University. As part of a bonding experience they were on a scavenger hunt and the final thing they needed to do was serenade someone. I guess we looked like we needed a serenade. After a lot of hemming and hawing about what to sing they asked us about our favorite Broadway show. When we mentioned Les Mis, one of the young men began to sing "Do you hear the people sing" with a beautiful voice and great enthusiasm. The others slowly joined in and we even found ourselves singing along. We applauded and thanked them and then everyone went on their way. It was a lovely experience on a beautiful summer evening.
