Let me say this first - no disrespect is intended. I am simply trying to stay loosely within the At the Movies Challenge boundaries (if there are any.) :-)

While this building might not be known to the many tourists who visit Washington DC, for the residents who travel on the Beltway, this is a very familiar sight. The Temple of the Latter Day Saints appears suddenly as you travel around the highway and it can look quite magical at times, depending on the time of day, season and atmospheric conditions. It is difficult (and probably unwise) to try get a good shot of it from the Beltway as one drives by, so today I took a detour and drove into the grounds to get this photo. It looks very nice in color but I thought it also lent itself well to B&W and anyway, it is not emerald.
