Oman is a Sultanate and the current Sultan has ruled since 1970. During this time, he has taken his country forward in so many ways.

For example, when he came to power there were 3 schools with just over 900 students (all male). Now there are 1283 schools with over 600,000 students.

During the Arab spring, some teachers established an encampment out near the airport to protest. The Sultan sent out some air conditioning units. The protest petered out.

The Sultan has some yachts and this is one of them. For the avoidance of doubt, it is the one in the background.
