No thanks
And I'm not talking about the Scottish referendum on independence. I'm talking about this football match.
Some months ago, Sky television moved the British terrestrial channels to new satellites with a much smaller footprint - meaning that those channels are no longer available to the ex-pat British community in the south of Spain. I speak of the BBC channels, ITV, Channels 4 and 5. Since the World Cup matches are being screened on BBC1 and ITV1, it has meant watching the games online - with appalling quality pictures.
However, the third games in the qualifying groups are played simultaneously, and ITV is showing theirs on 1 and 4. For some reason we can still get ITV 2, 3 and 4. So tonight, for the first time, I have been able to see a game in high def. ALGERIA vs RUSSIA! And I have to say, I can hardly imagine a game that would interest me less. And yet, here I am watching - because I can. How sad is that?
