The Bite

This afternoon I had a meeting at the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre with Malcolm and Sarah. Before the meeting we had a tour of the facilities.

Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre is home to renowned series of unique museum collections and archives of national and international significance related to contemporary mask and puppet theatre. There are some amazing items within the museum, including this werewolf mask which caught my attention.

This image is a bit ironic on a day that the Uruguayan and Liverpool footballer Luis Suarez paid dearly for his World Cup biting shame.

He has been suspended for the rest of the tournament and from “all football activity”, including the start of next season.

He was also hit with a stadium ban, preventing him from attending any match anywhere in the world during his four-month ban, and was fined £65,702. The fine is a total joke, as he earns more than £200,000 per week.

The chairman of Fifa’s disciplinary committee, Claudio Sulser, added: “Such behaviour cannot be tolerated on any football pitch and, in particular, not at the Fifa World Cup, when the eyes of millions of people are on the stars on the field.

“The disciplinary committee took into account all the factors of the case, and the degree of Mr Suarez’s guilt in accordance with the relevant provisions of the code.”

Fifa declined to confirm whether Suarez would also be forced to undergo psychological help as part of his sanction. He certainly needs treatment as this is the third time he has done this.

Interested to get your views on this, should he have got a longer ban?
