Coffee Mates
The infamous cardigan of yesterday was borne through to Glasgow by train today and was at least outwardly well received by Glasgow daughter. Despite noticing the pattern asymmetry, she embraced the flaw with equanimity, and Nina was delighted that it matched the one her mother already has, the one with no mistakes.
His Lordship and I had coffee with them and Ewan in Princes Square, the favourite haunt of Edinburghers through to Glasgow for the day.
Nina on summer holidays from school, entertained us as ever with her craic.
She is delightful company and kept us laughing for the duration.
Ewan was happy to observe and keep his own counsel. He may yet turn into the strong silent type of man who only speaks when he has something profound to say.
The cream jacket worn by His Lordship escaped being christened several times with spilt coffee only to arrive back at the Dower House with a dirty mark, acquired en route, and of course strategically placed mid centre. Typical, as we say.
