I dont think he's got the hang of this!

For one thing, I'm sure you should be on water and for another, I think you should sit up straight. But each to their own!

Boy, it's good to be back. On Friday 13th(!!!) our house was struck by lightening during a massive storm. Luckily there was no structional damage but it did cause several very annoying problems.

The first thing I knew, a plastic cover on the telephone extension box flew off across the room. Then the power went off. Then I went to bed and cowered under the duvet while the storm raged on.

The next morning we discovered that the phones were off, the modem and computer were burnt out and the water was coming out from the taps brown. We got the lights back on easily but it took several hours to get the sockets back on (something to do with the alarm which was going off periodically).
We hooked up an old computer but I actually discovered that there isn't much that I want to do on a computer that isnt internet related.

To cut a long story short, It took a week to get a new modem, nearly 2 weeks to get the phone line repaired (including many hours of waiting for them to come and being available when they were here), and about2 or 3 days to get the water running clear again. The computer is fairly new and they sent us a part under the warranty but that hasn't worked so they are sending an engineer tomorrow. Fingers crossed as I dont want to have to buy a new comuter beacause it took me ages to find one that had the features I wanted.

I dont have a mobile or a laptop so I was almost cut off from the world for 2 weeks - VERY frustrating in many ways but slightly liberating as well.

I have been keeping up with blipping so I will be back blipping as soon as I get through the ENORMOUS list of things to do on line.
