Great spotted Woodpecker a young one I think
because of the red on it's head. We have a family
of them coming into the garden.A woody's tongue
can be up to 4" long depending on the species and
it wraps around the skull they have barbed tongues
They don't get headaches from pecking the tree as
they have reinforced skulls structured to spread
the impact force, and their brains are tightly
cushioned and protected. A bit of useful useless
