Hovering In The Evening Sun

Trust me when I tell you that taking this picture was no easy task. Especially when using just a basic auto-focus pocket camera, (aka: my "emergency" camera) ... :o)

Focus was actually achieved by "pre-focusing" using the leaves from the tree (say about one foot), then, keeping my finger half pressed on the shutter switch, manoeuvring myself into a position where a hover-fly was hovering (one foot away), whilst also attempting to keep the sun in the shot, and all the time trying not to blind myself.

Hover-flies get bored hovering in the same spot for more than a few moments.
This was about shot 50 ... :o)
